Northeast Clown Institute
JANUARY 16th thru JANUARY 18th, 2009 CLASS

The Northeast Clown Institute (NCI) will be holding its Twentieth Annual Weekend Event on Friday, January 16, thru January 18, 2009, at the Radisson-Plymouth, 180 Water Street, Plymouth, Massachusetts 02360. This year’s NCI is a Competition focused program, which will be quite different from our 19 previous years.  This year, we will have Costume & Make-Up competitions in each category, Whiteface, Auguste, Hobo/Tramp and Character.  In addition and for the first time, we will have Single and Multiple Balloon competitions and Skit competitions, including 1-Clown, 2-Clown and Group (3 or more).

As usual, we offer a certificate of completion, a book filled with valuable vendor information and instructors notes, as well as a graduate's pin, when one attends the entire weekend. Classes will begin at 1:00pm on Friday 1/16/2009. The cost for registration this year is calculated based on your registration status and information is available on the 2009 Registration pages.

Rooms will be available for a special rate of $52.00 plus tax, per night, per Room (single or double), plus $15.00 extra for each additional adult over age 17. Children under 18 stay free in same room with adults.

We need an accurate count to insure that we'll have a sufficient number of books and pass outs on hand. So if you are planning on attending, please fill out the Class Registration Form and get it to Ed Dowling (his contact information follows on registration pages) as soon as possible along with the required Student Registration Fee (U.S. FUNDS ONLY).
 

The enclosed Lodging Registration should be filled out and sent to Ed Dowling (again, his contact information follows) as soon as possible, along with the Hotel Reservation Fee. Deadline for registering will be December 15, 2008, for both Classes and Lodging reservations. We are planning on a maximum of 200 students, and based on past year's responses, we expect an early sell out this year again.

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS: If you have a Costume and Make-Up, please bring it along. You will have the opportunity to make-up and dress for a critique with our instructors.

SECOND YEAR and UP STUDENTS: Each student will have the opportunity to make up and dress in costume for competition, as well as to participate in the balloons and skits competitions. Trophies, Certificates and Credits will be awarded to the top three in each category at the Awards Brunch on Sunday morning, following the annual Auction for the Sneaker Fund. Credits will be applied towards Craftsman and Master Clown Awards.
